Amateur Astronomy Picture of the Day (AAPOD2) is a website and social media presence, built, coordinated, and edited by Jason Matter and Charles Lillo. The goal of the site is to collect and archive the best Amateur Astronomy images on the internet and award a new AAPOD2 winner daily.

AAPOD2 in general does not endorse any commercial products nor guarantee claims or sales made on any linked pages or posts.

In the real world, Jason and Charles are two amateur astronomers who spend much of their free hobby time imaging the universe. Charles is the former creative director at Fandango.com and now is owner of https://umbrellaspecialist.com/ in Fort Lauderdale, Jason is a business owner at Naveles in Miami, which is a family owned and operated business since 1934 (http://www.naveles.com) . Both are married, with 2 kids and enjoy astro-photography, camping and hockey. Both are on the Board of Directors for the South Florida Amateur Astronomers Association (SFAAA.com) and have been so for a combined 15 yrs.

Both are avid amateur astronomers who blog and publish their own images on their own websites, Jason’s site is https://www.theastrogazer.com/ and Charles blogs at https://www.theastrogeek.com/.

The AAPOD2 Facebook group website and Instagram accounts are not associated with AAPODx2, APOD.nasa.gov and is a private venture started when we heard about the closing of aapodx2 facebook group and the aapodx2.com. We are going to keep the ball rolling for all us amateur astro-photographers.
