Image Description and Details: Some of the dense starfield regions of the summer night sky are located around the edges and the core of the milky way. While there are colorful emission nebulae all around, there are also regions contain lots of dark dust on a background of silver and golden suns, and this is one very beautiful region.
In the constellation of Vulpecula, we see meandering features of dark dust that take on the appearance of the Loch Ness Monster (or a racing snail, or some form of dinosaur thing, lots of options!), in glittering drag. What is nice about the correct color balance for this region is the mix of silver and golden stars to give a muted golden tone of countless stars, jewelled with large and closer blue giants, red giants and blazing white stars including those of the NGC 6793 at the bottom. Nessy’s shoes are reflection nebulae including vdB 126.
