Location (was image taken with remote scope?): Garlstorf, Germany
Image Description and Details: Caroline's Rose is an open star cluster in the constellation Cassiopeia. It was discovered in 1783 by Caroline Herschel. The cluster’s name is derived from its discoverer and the flower-like arrangement of its brighter stars. The yellow color of the stars suggests an advanced age of the cluster.
The surface brightness of Caroline’s Rose is low, making it challenging to locate the cluster with the bare eye even under good conditions. In the field of view, there is thin "Integrated Flux Nebula", or "Galactic cirrus", as we call it in German.
The image was taken in a single night at a bortle 4 location in Northern Germany with a mobile setup. Total integration time is 95 x 180s = 4,75h.
