Maurizio went on an adventure to make multiple captures of comets around the mountains surrounding Lake Como in an area called Alpe Grande at 1223 masl, Lombardy.

The predictions of good weather last short, after 30 shots in that session the wind began to blow constantly and relatively strong, he has to change the exposure time from 30 sec to 20 sec, thus trying to lose as few frames as possible due to movement.

It turned out that there were constant clouds passing through that also clearly reflected the luminosity of Lake Lugano, which was the direction towards where the comet was located.

Of the 130 frames of this session, 47 show passing clouds, 42 frames are crossed by satellites and one by plane.

I worked with 86 better frames by stacking in DSS for the star base and in Siril to get the starless-comet stack. The result obtained from the starless-comet was quite good, the comet in that time was crossing the Pisces Constellation, not much populated in stars although the problem arose by making the necessary stretch to highlight the details of the tail because many traces of the stars crossed it and the head emerged.

A laboriosus clean have to be done. Beside that there was a lot of background noise that come from the clouds that passed and the faint signal of the tail was affected from the middle down.

Despite the adversity of the elements, the result surprised both of us, the inner characteristics of the comet in those days can be clearly seen and without a doubt we got a good memories of it with this image.

Thanks for your attention
