Image Description and Details : This is the heart of the Heart Nebula, otherwise known as IC 1805. It is located about 7,500 light years away in the constellation Cassiopeia. This view shows the center of the nebula which contains the open cluster Merlotte 15, which is the source of the radiation that ionizes the surrounding gas. This cluster contains a few bright stars that are 50 times the mass of the sun. This image was captured with narrowband filters with RGB filters for the stars and processed using the SHO Hubble palette.
