Image Description and Details: The spiral galaxy NGC 2403 is visible in the spring sky in the direction of the constellation Camelopardalis. The object is also known as Caldwell 7. The galaxy, about 10 million light-years away, was first identified by William Herschel in 1788. It is registered as one of the more distant members of the M 81 group.
The image shows the characteristic spiral arms of the galaxy, the shape of which is quite similar to the shape of the spiral arms of the well-known M 33 galaxy.
I took the picture with an APM 1.5x coma-correcting Barlow 2", which increases the original focal length of my telescope of 800 mm to 1200 mm. Unfortunately, this also reduces the brightness of the system from f/4 to f/6.
