Northern Lights

Last week, two powerful X-class solar flares (X7.1 and X9.1) and a series of M-minor flares flashed CMEs to Earth. Three of them hit or killed our planet between October 4th and 7. The most powerful CME hit Earth on October 6. This triggered a strong G3 class geomagnetic storm with medium latitudes and particularly intense aurora in the skies of northern Europe. Witnessing these events is a unique experience, you are transported in a vortex of colorful moving shapes and often you forget to take pictures so as not to lose even a second of this breathtaking spectacle!
