Image Description and Details: The globular cluster M3 was the first object in the Messier catalog to be discovered by Charles Messier himself. It is known to contain over 500,000 stars.
M3 is notable for containing more variable stars than any other known cluster, at least 274. It is actually slightly larger than M13 but is 10,000 light years more distant.

Data consisted of 41 x 5min subframes with a QHY 268C camera
