AAPOD2 has partnered with the world renowned artist Cathrin Machin

We are excited to announce a special surprise for everyone in our AAPOD2 Facebook group. AAPOD2 has partnered with the world renowned artist Cathrin Machin to have an artistic astronomical photo contest. As astrophotographers we not only strive to achieve realistic and scientific images but we also each have our own unique ways of processing and adding our own artistic twist to every image we acquire.

The winner of the contest will receive a print from one of Cathrin's fantastic collections.

The contest is simple. Process an image (new or old) with your own artistic twist and submit them to aapod2contest@gmail.com. Submissions will be open for 30 days starting today and close 5/11/21. Once the submission window closes Cathrin will select the image she likes best and we will post a video of her announcing who the winner is, why she selected that image and also discuss a little about her artwork.
I'd love to say The only rule is there are no rules but please keep individual submissions down to 1 per person. We obviously have a lot of members so we have the potential for a lot of submissions. Also feel free to invite any other astrophotographers you know to join our AAPOD2 facebook group to get in on the contest. ***Note*** This contest is separate from our AAPOD daily selections.
