Image Description and Details: First light with my new ZWO ASI 6200MM on the RedCat 51 for a wide-field image. But since it's never quite wide enough, I decided to start with a mosaic featuring two winter classics of the northern hemisphere skies: the Rosette Nebula and the Christmas Tree Cluster. The setup is far from being optimized to my standards, but once I had the new camera in my hands and under the favor of a new moon, I couldn’t resist capturing some photons! I used a dynamic formula to blend narrowband data for a result that is visually captivating yet faithful to the gas emissions, and I gathered several hours of RGB data for the stars. The processing was quite aggressive, as I’ve recently been enjoying this approach for narrowband images, and I took a creative approach with masks to bend PixInsight to my will.
I hope you like it, and I wish everyone clear and dark skies!
