Image Description and Details: On the morning of 10th September, I finally got the opportunity to capture Comet C/2023 P1 (Nishimura). The comet is still far from being a naked eye object and was hiding in the haze along the horizon for longer than I expected.

I started doubting that I was shooting in the right direction and was thinking about giving up when I finally noticed a greenish blob smack in the middle of my LCD.

After some reframing, I quickly shot a series of tracked sky exposure, followed by the untracked foreground frames.

Sky: Stack of 25 x 20s @ ISO1600, tracked. Stacked with Comet Processing in PixInsight

Foreground: Stack of 6x 20s @ ISO1600, untracked
