Pelican Nebula
Herbig-Haro object 555 - is shown as a slender finger pointing downwards in the glowing orange area at the top of the image.
If you look closely you'll see two jets emanating from the end of the finger. This is a new star being born from within the dust and gas, as the star turns on it unleashes energetic jets and this awesome event can be seen here.
The dense dust lanes in the center of the image with their fine and convoluted patterns (for me) destroys the illusion of familiar objects , as its simply dust between us and the nebula .
Finally, almost a mirror image of the orange/ yellow areas at the top of the image , the Cygnus wall, a turbulent star formation area shows many dusty projections when new stars are forming.
This whole area is around 2500 light years from us, and around 150 light-years across
