Image Description and Details : This view of Sh2-96, within the constellation Cygnus the Swan, reveals the aftermath of a supernova that exploded long ago. Resembling a reddish flame, the ionized hydrogen appears to dance along the surface of an ocean of oxygen. Over 35 hours of exposures were captured using Ha and Oiii narrowband filters to produce this final image. Technical details: Esprit 150ED, ASI2600MM-Pro, EQ8-Rh Pro, Astronomik 6nm HO filters, 720 second subs at Gain 100 under Bortle 5/6 skies.
