Image Title: The Helix Nebula in HOORGB
Location: Oukaimeden, Morroco
Image Description and Details: The Helix Nebula, also known as NGC 7293, is one of the most iconic and fascinating planetary nebulae in our Milky Way. Located in the direction of the Aquarius constellation, about 700 light years from us, this nebula has captivated the imagination of astronomers and cosmos enthusiasts since its discovery.
Its spectacular appearance and resemblance to a human eye makes it an invaluable object of study for understanding the formation, evolution and structure of planetary nebulae.
The Helix Nebula gets its name from its shape resembling a ring or helix when viewed from the front. This fascinating structure is the product of the ejection of layers of gas and material from a dying star, a white dwarf at the center of the nebula.
