Location: Place : Queyras / French Alps / France.

Image Description and Details: This Wednesday, January 31, the Moon had an appointment with the Aiguille de Baude and with myself.
The very first rays of the Sun barely illuminate the top of the Aiguille de Baude while the Moon is already escaping.
It was necessary to run a few hundred meters with the telescope and the tripod in order to find the almost perfect position, reposition the tripod, the framing, and refocus.

For three mornings in a row I have been tracking this rather rare alignment.
The last attempt was this morning, Thursday February 1.
“Unfortunately” the sky was cloudy.

I like these kinds of encounters where I can imagine the distance of the Moon which is 380,000 km away!

Equipment Details: Photograph taken with a Sky Watcher 80ED 600mm astronomical refractor and with a Sony A7S.

One shot.
Exposure : 1/800° sec.
